The Cougars are out!

We went on an amazing tour of BYU.  We got to meet up at the Gordon B Hinckley Visitors Center, which if you haven't been there, it is a must.  It is the most gorgeous building on campus.  Then we met up with our tour guide Ryan who took us on a BYU blue golf cart and off we went.  He took us first to the statue of brother Brigham......

all through the new buildings, and around the campus, including the tower, the science building, the planetarium ........

And of course to the Baseball Stadium - where Lincoln and Grant might play in the future.....




and of course over the the house of "Jimmer" (which isn't on the normal tour, but we got lucky because we were such big cougar fans from out of state).  The boys thought it was GINORMOUS!

and over to Legacy Hall (the BYU sports hall of fame).

And then we happened to ask if we could come in just to take pictures of the BYU Football offices, and all the cool trophies in the lobby.  Then the head administrator asked if we would like to go back and see the whole thing.    We could hardly believe it.  We got to meet the assistant coach (No Bronco that day), and a RM football player (which the boys were so enamored with).  Watch for him this year.....Austin Heeder.  We saw all of their high tech taping rooms and where each of the special teams meet.








The hallways were just overflowing with amazing photos, and inspiring football quotes and famous plays, etc....I think Kenny was the most excited of all of us, but he was holding back from all out jumping up and down.Talk about kid in a candy store!





Of course we had to take our pictures by Austin Collie (Go Colts).....

And the Giant BYU helmet that didn't quite fit Kenny.  

And then into the team meeting room, complete with custom built rows of seats for the giant linebackers.

There was a wall of all the cougars who have gone on to the NFL, and our personal favorite, a wall of all of the current and returned missionaries currently on the football team.

And if that wasn't enough......then we went to Matt's work to see his amazing grownupness.

and saw where Jimmer practiced at the indoor regulation size basketball court.






Then got to see his office with a window, and some of the amazing stuff he does (Matt is sooooo cool).








Then we went by the old house (which looked a bit "different")




Then we had to head to the Provo Bakery to get the doughnuts of amazingness, which did you know that now they make "Y" doughnuts.  They were deeeeeeelishious.













The boys loved them of course.




We took a side trip before heading up the canyon to Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium and picked up a set of vintage marbles and a few Harry Potter wands.




Then finally ended up at the most beautiful place in Provo - SUNDANCE!  It was gorgeous!  Unfortunately, we couldn't do the Ski Lift tour like we planned, because it was stormy. But the river was almost overflowing and sounded fantastic, as well as the greenery, mountains, and fresh air.







We got to eat an amazing dinner in the restaurant and then picked up some old fashioned suckers for desert.  All in all......the best most fun filled vacation day ever!



And don't worry, we stocked up a million times over on BYU paraphanalia!  We love BYU!
